Wondering what to expect when you visit Catherine's Bridal Boutique? You have seen the TV shows, and read the wedding blogs and magazines. Well, what happens at Catherine's is unique to all of that. Here, we believe that everyone who walks in the door is a gift. We look forward to meeting new people everyday and to the challenge of helping each individual guest find the gown that is uniquely YOU!

A few years ago, we developed the reputation as "The friendliest bridal shop around". That is what we heard every time a guest came in that was referred by a friend. Well, it's true! The atmosphere here is laid back and friendly. There is no better way to describe it. The consultants that work here are real people, with families, and friends and hobbies, just like our guests. We employ local people who have roots and history in this area, and enjoy life in Northwest Indiana, just like you. We want to hear what you are up to, and all about your wedding plans and your plans for the future.

Here is What to Expect...

Appointments are recommended, but not required. Our busiest day is Saturday. So, if you do not want to have to wait for a dressing room, then you will want to make an appointment before you come on a Saturday, or visit us on a week day, when we are less busy.

When you arrive for your appointment, you will see hundreds of dresses on display. Not just bridal gowns, but bridesmaids dresses, mother of the wedding dresses, prom dresses and more. Someone wearing a black shirt will smile at you, and check you in, and prepare you to begin shopping. If you arrive early, or we are running behind, you are welcome to browse our extensive selection of gowns while you wait.

During your appointment, we will get a feel for your style, theme, budget, body type and overall vision for the day. We will ask a lot of questions. We will ask to see pictures of gowns that you like, if you have any. We will make recommendations based on our experiences. Then we will get to work, putting all of the pieces together to make your dream a reality. We will also educate you on the ordering process and give you practical advice and timelines to help make the planning process as stress free as possible. 

We will let you try on as many gowns as you like. We do not put a limit on the number of gowns that you try on. We only ask that you respect the 90 minute time limit that is allocated to each appointment. Some days, our dressing rooms are booked solid and we believe in the Golden Rule ~ Treat others as you would like to be treated. 

We will help you get into and out of the dresses. We strongly encourage you to let your consultant come into the room with you to help you in and out of the dresses. It can be overwhelming to do it on your own, especially on your first appointment. We know that brides bring trusted family and friends with them to their appointment. We understand the need for moral support and don't mind if one of them wants to be there to help as well. If you prefer more privacy, just let your consultant know and we will wait outside the room, ready to lace, zip, or pin the gown to fit you for try on purposes. 

We will let you take pictures of yourself in your favorite gowns! That's right, we encourage you to take pictures. In fact, your consultant will even take the picture for you. All you have to do is ask. No more hiding in the dressing room.

Our consultants work together to provide all of our guests with a positive shopping experience. Do not be surprised if more than one of our consultants steps in to help you during your appointment. We all have different strengths and we count on each other to use those strengths as needed. This provides one of the most positive and enthusiastic shopping experiences that you will ever have!
